Happy Valley, OR - Throughout the campaign, State Representative Janelle Bynum, Democratic candidate for Oregon’s 5th Congressional District, has welcomed several national democrats to join the campaign to flip OR-05 from red to Blue.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries visited in early October, to host a press conference alongside Bynum. The duo discussed the dangers of Project 2024, and Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s extreme abortion record

DCCC Chairwoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) joined Bynum at a Get Out the Vote Canvass Launch in Clackamas earlier this week. As voters received their ballots, the lawmakers rallied volunteers and knocked doors to encourage voters to return their ballots early.

House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (CA-33) stopped by the Bynum of Congress campaign headquarters last weekend, to launch another Get Out the Vote Canvass Launch. The pair energized and recruited volunteers for a full weekend of door-knocking.
Visits from national democrats come as the Bynum for Congress campaign only gains momentum and national attention. Bynum’s campaign raised $3.4 million in Q3. The total is the highest quarterly fundraising total in state history - House or Senate. Two recent polls show Bynum leading Chavez-DeRemer by two points. The latest poll found Bynum leading with women voters and households with a union member. Recently, National Journal listed Oregon’s 5th Congressional District in the top 10 congressional races most likely to flip in 2024, jumping up 8 spots after State Rep. Janelle Bynum’s strong primary win “instantly making this seat a top offensive opportunity for the party.”
