Bynum Decisively Wins Primary, Ready for General Election Fight

Clackamas, OR – Today, Congresswoman Janelle Bynum released the following statement after advancing to the general election as the Democratic nominee for Oregon’s 5th Congressional District. She will now face Trump loyalist and extremist Patty Adair in November.

“I’m grateful for the trust that voters have placed in me once again, but I’m not taking a victory lap on tonight's results – my focus remains on the general,” said Rep. Bynum. “The job continues tomorrow morning. Families are still dealing with rising costs, our democracy is still under attack, and Republicans are always willing to put good money behind a bad candidate. On to November.”

During Congresswoman Bynum’s first term in office, she has been laser-focused on working across the aisle to deliver real results and to show up for her constituents, proving that she’s the right person to fight for Oregonians in Congress.

• Rep. Bynum has hosted over 100,000 Oregonians at 27 town halls across OR-05, including her 10 stop “Give ‘Em Hell” Tour in response to the Trump Administration’s chaos.
