Bynum campaign receives major nod as endorsements stack up
Happy Valley, OR - Today, Janelle Bynum announced the endorsements of Governors Barbara Roberts and Kate Brown , as first reported by the Oregonian. They join Governor Tina Kotek in supporting Janelle Bynum’s candidacy for Oregon’s 5th Congressional District. Governor Roberts, Oregon’s first woman governor, Kate Brown, the country’s first LGTBQ+ governor, and Tina Kotek, the country’s first lesbian governor, are adding their voices to the large coalition of support for Janelle’s bid to become Oregon’s first Black member of Congress.
“A career-long problem solver, businesswoman, and working mom of four, Janelle Bynum is exactly the kind of leader and fighter that Oregon’s 5th Congressional District deserves,” said former Governor Brown. “I’m proud to support her in this fight for our families and Oregon’s future.”
“For years, Janelle has been fighting the good fight for families throughout this district in the state legislature and advocating for the needs of Oregon’s working families,” said former Governor Roberts. “I’m standing with proven champions for Oregon on this team, and I’m excited for the positive change Janelle will help create on behalf of our families in the halls of Congress.”
“It is an honor and privilege to be supported by Oregon’s three history-making women governors,” said Janelle Bynum. “Our movement is growing stronger by the day, and brings me faith that our coalition will defeat Lori Chavez DeRemer and the far-right extremists she’s enabling in the halls of Congress. The 5th district knows that Chavez-DeRemer doesn’t represent their interests, and together, we’re going to defeat her for the third time this November.”
